My Naked Face (Again) + A Cetaphil Product Review + $100 Visa Gift Card Sweepstakes

I really should get paid to post naked pictures of my face on the internet.

(Oh wait, this time I did 🙂 While I was compensated for the time it took to write this post, my opinions are not for sale.)

BlogHer recently contacted me and asked if I would like to review two Cetaphil products this month. You all know I have struggled with acne-prone skin, so I am pretty game to try anything that may help. On top of that, you may remember that I had complained earlier this month that I still did not have any kind of sun protection at all in my routine, so when I read that one of the products was the Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 15 I absolutely jumped at the chance.

If you have been reading this website for any length of time, you know that taking care of my skin really does excite me, and for the past few months with The Great Skincare Experiment I have been consistently looking for that perfect intersection where healthy food and lifestyle meets ideal products for my face. It has been years since I have used any Cetaphil products, and I wasn’t particularly unhappy with my current skincare routine, but the two main reasons I was willing to check out some Cetaphil products were:

1. It was the most common product that you all recommended to me back when asked for your skin care advice

and

2. Cetaphil products are recommended by more dermatologists than any other brand.

Recommendations from my readers and dermatologists? Alrighty then, I thought, Cetaphil products may be worth trying again!

It’s only been a little while since I started using the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser and the Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 15 and I’m happy to report that they really are both as gentle as can be. For someone with very sensitive and dry skin, this is absolutely a must, especially during the winter months! But the other thing that is important to me is that a cleanser actually get my face clean, and an antioxidant face serum that actually protects the skin. Both of these products did the trick, and most importantly they’ve done so without any irritation whatsoever. Anti aging hand cream is important too, especially in harsh weather.

Win!

I’m looking forward to seeing how it compliments my skincare moving forward, and you KNOW I will be keeping you posted.

Because it is the holidays and everyone is in the giving spirit, Cetaphil will be offering a printable coupon to save $3 on any two Cetaphil products. Click here to save up to $3.

Love reading your skincare updates! I’ve struggled with my skin for most of my life, and it’s taken many years to settle on a routine that (usually) works for me. The one product I can’t live without is Olay daily moisturizer for sensitive skin with SPF15. It keeps my skin hydrated without feeling greasy and lasts all day long.

  2. Mary says:

I don’t know if it counts because I only use hippie dipper natural stuff, but I couldn’t live without lavender oil! I started using it as an acne spot treatment a few weeks ago and I have been ASTOUNDED with the results. Thanks for hosting this giveaway, holly!

  3. Megan W. says:

I can’t live without a nice oil-free lotion, especially during the winter. I use Aveeno usually. Love it.

  4. Casey P says:

I could not live without my Vaseline Intensive Care body lotion. I’ve tried the super pricy stuff, I’ve tried the all natural stuff, and I’ve tried the super cheap stuff. But Vaseline’s Inensive Care lotion works for me – it’s unscented (key!), doesn’t feel greasy, and works. That being said, I’m interested to read more about your Cetaphil adventures because I do need good facial skin care!

  5. A'Dell says:

Um, that would be my Cetaphil face wash. LAME! PANDERING!

    BUT IT IS SO TRUE.

  6. Erica says:

Dove sensitive skin bars by the dozen

  7. Mim says:

Coconut oil is my go to beauty product.

  8. Holly says:

Facial Oil – Living in CO it’s so dry here, we need lots of moisturizer!

  9. Deanna says:

Under eye cream! It is a must as I get older and my skin seems to get dryer-

  10. sabrina danny says:

I cannot live without hexane-free cold pressed castor oil ( I do the oil cleansing method…it works better than anything else I’ve tried so far ). PS love your blog Holly…I wish I was as organized as you!

  11. Carmen says:

I cannot live without Arbonne RE9 Advanced Firming Body Cream. We call it “butt cream” in my house because we mainly use in on the bum and thighs to firm and combat cellulite. Although lately I have been using it all over and am very pleased with the results. It is a firming cream so you immediately think tightening, but it’s Arbonne, so it’s also hydrating and good for your skin! I have been using it most recently to try to combat my KP (keratosis pilaris) in conjunction with coconut oil and it seems to be calming my skin down wonderfully.

  12. Roop says:

Oil of Olay face moisturizer for sensitive skin

  13. Maura says:

Oddly enough, my go to product is Cetaphil Daily Moisturizer, so I can get my sunscreen on.

  14. Jennie says:

Yep, Cetaphil, which feels SO SHADY to say but it’s true.

  15. rhonda says:

I’m pretty slack with skincare, but I do like using Neutrogena pink grapefruit facial scrub….helps me wake up in the morning!

  16. Kara t says:

I’m a dermalogica girl, but I really love cetaphil on days I don’t wear make up!

  17. K says:

Man, I love all things face-potiony. I’m glad you’re loving Cetaphil so much.

  18. Bree says:

Origins “Checks and Balances”! It’s a face wash that lathers up so well with just a tiny bit and it smells delicious! I cannot live without it!

  19. Annie says:

My benefit erase paste saves me every day. EVERY DAY.

  20. AndreAnna says:

I’ve used Cetaphil products as soon as my best friend became a dermatologist and told me too.

I also use a salicylic acid blackhead scrub every few days at her recommendation (not every day, she says!!)

however, the one skin care product I couldn’t live without is of course the most expensive one: Juice Beauty Cellular CC Cream: http://www.birchbox.com/shop/catalog/product/view/id/3750/s/juice-beauty-stem-cellular-repair-cc-cream/category/8/

It’s like all the hype of the BB cream but more magical.

It make my skin amazing and glowy!

  21. Linsey says:

I cannot live without aquaphor! I buy the little tubes and use it as lip moisturizer and this time of year it is especially necessary

  22. Miriel says:

I don’t really have anything in my skincare “routine” (which, um, consists of washing my face and then moisturizing it) that I couldn’t live without…I could probably stand to figure out what would work better than the drugstore products I’m currently using, actually!

  23. Vanessa Kritlow says:

I’ve been hooked on Cetaphil ever since it was introduced to me from a boyfriend years ago. Probably like 8 years ago? I can’t use anything else. But I also require a little exfoliation and for that I use St. Ives Apricot Scrub. Love, love, love that stuff. Couldn’t live without either of those products.

  24. Carmel says:

My can’t-live-without-it product is Guinot hydra tendre facial cleanser. It’s made with coconut and is super gentle and keeps my skin clear!

  25. Michelle says:

Exactly a week ago, I would have said I couldn’t live without Dr. Bronner’s Baby Mild soap for all my skincare needs, but I started using the Banished and Beyond line by Primal Life Organics, and I’m seeing some pretty amazing results. So I guess it’s a toss-up. I still love Dr. Bronner’s soap in a foaming soap dispenser for body wash and shaving.

  26. Abby says:

What can’t I live without? Eye cream-I’m really liking origins starting over eye cream. Rich and moisturizing. I also, unfortunately, can’t live without my topical antibiotic creams for now. 🙁 (metrogel an cleocin-T )

  27. Elizabeth Z says:

I just love Neutrogena’s “Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Anti-Blemish Cream.” It’s got salicylic acid and retinol! The fewer skin-care steps before bed, the better 😀

  28. Elizabeth says:

This will sound ridiculous on this post but it totally is my Cetaphil, (for sensitive skin) which I adore.

  29. Mami2jcn says:

I couldn’t be without hand lotion. They get so dry in the winter!

  35. Nice. My mom has been using cetaphil for years. She swears by it. Used to use it but recently changed to Sibu products. Pretty sure I can no longer live without their facewash

  36. sizzle says:

How can I choose just one!? 🙂

Definitely moisturizer. Lately I’ve been using Aveeno Positively Radiant products and it’s been pretty great for my skin. I’ve heard good things about Cetaphil.

  37. Rachel says:

I love my bare minerals. The lotion is perfect, and the powder has SPF built in. Win!

  38. kakaty says:

Of all the things out there I think I would say coconut oil. A few months ago I started using it for everything from body lotion to hair moisturizer to a treatment for cuts and burns (as they are healing). I have a drawer full of other lotions and potions yet the little tupperware bowl of coconut oil is what I always reach for.

  39. Courtney Barts says:

Olay face wipes…no excuse not to wipe my makeup offe even when tired and lazy!

Just could not do without Cetaphil lotion

I like Olay 7effects with sunscreen.

  47. I jump around from product to product, but always use my MIL’s frankincense and myhrr balm, which is really unfair (to everyone else), because they don’t sell online. (WHICH THEY FREAKING SHOULD.)

I’ve always loved St. Ives apricot scrub.. the off brand works, too 🙂

  50. JulieVK says:

I literally use nothing on my face (including soap) except for occasionally some coconut oil after I’ve been swimming.

  51. Danae says:

I can’t live without coconut oil anymore! I use it as a makeup remover and moisturizer for my face and all-over skin softening. Ditching all those little bottles of creams and serums was the best thing I ever did for my skin.

  52. Rita O'Dwyer says:

I haven’t found a skin care product I can’t live without because I have acne prone skin and nothing has done a good job of cleaning my face and clearing up acne without making it worse.

I actually like to use Simple cleanser, and Real Purity by Philosophy. But I would love to find a product that works to wash my face, and not strip my skin!

  57. sy says:

Taking care of my skin excites me too. I can’t live without a good moisturizer with spf15+ and fragrance free, I’m using olay now, would try cetaphil. Thanks for the review and giveaway.
