The Work Is The Same

Miserable-Strong

I’ve been marinating on this quote since I first heard it a few days ago and I can’t tell you how much it has helped me reframe some of my everyday stress. Instead of feeling like I am bogged down, it’s helping me see tough tasks as fuel for growth. Instead of wondering how I got stuck in a situation, it’s helping me see the many opportunities at my fingertips. Instead of asking “Why me?” it’s made me ask “What can I learn?”

Isn’t it so curious how sometimes a few words can do that so powerfully?

A quote that’s been helping me lately is “How you do anything is how you do everything”, which I found on And Kathleen (attributed to someone else, can’t remember who!). It reminds me to be fully present and engaged in all of my activities…and also to just freaking go for it with some big scary life things!

I needed this today. LOVE, adding it to my rotation of “things I repeat in my head on bad days.” My other is “if it isnt good change it – and if you can’t change it, make it good.”

    Great quote, thanks!

  4. Nice. Adding this quote to my pinterest (because where else would I put a quote?) One that’s sort of related but not as cheerful “Pain is inevitable, suffering is option.” I actually have it as my iphone background to remind me that things go wrong in life but we don’t have to hang our heads because of it.
