Whole 30 Meal Plan — Week 5 (THE LAST WEEK!)

Whole 30 Week Five Meal Plan

Woo hoo! It’s the final week and all I can think of is “just get food on the table until it’s over.” My creativity is gone with the wind, and I don’t mean Gone With The Wind Fabulous. While that may sound sort of boring, I actually think it’s an indicator of success. By the time I get to the end of the Whole 30 I’m basically eating because I have a need to nourish, not to feed any cravings or particular emotions. SCORE!

Monday

Breakfast: will be the same all week. I made Italian Brunch Bake and roasted up some brussels sprouts. Breakfast in boxes all week long!
Lunch: Rogan Josh (straight out of Well Fed. HOLY CRAP this is a simple, but flavorful dish.)
Dinner: A variation on Nom Nom Paleo’s Slow Cooker Kalua Pig (smoked paprika instead of bacon. Oh bacon, how I miss thee!)

Tuesday

Lunch: Taco Salad, because OBVIOUSLY.
Dinner: Turkey Satay Burgers + Broccoli Slaw +Green Goddess Cauliflower Rice (h/t for pointing me in that direction Tara!)

Wednesday

Lunch: Roasted Shrimp (riff on this recipe) + Green Beans (the microwavable Trader Joe’s kind
Dinner: Ground Beef with Baharat (Paleo-ified) over Spaghetti Squash

Thursday

Lunch: Chicken Salad with Avocados + Sliced Cucumber
Dinner: Burgers TBD + Roasted Broccoli + Sweet Potato Fries

No idea what to do with the burgers Thursday night, so riddle me this…what is your FAVORITE way to make/dress/serve a burger?

Happy Last week of Whole 30 you all! Thanks for keeping me (mostly) inspired in the kitchen! ha!

I LOVE chorizo burgers! Add 1/2 lb of chorizo to pound of ground beef, mix and grill. So freaking good and moist and spicy and yummy! Only way I will eat them now.

  2. Leslie says:

My Fave: season with paprika, garlic powder, chili powder, salt & pepper, grill, and serve on top of caramelized onions and topped with avocado & homemade mayo.

Way to go on Whole 30! I only made it through day 22. 🙂

  3. Lins says:

I love the ones from Make it Paleo with garlic and jalapeño (roasted, of course) and I recently tried topping my burgers with a red onion, carrot, lime juice, salt and cilantro. Yumm yumm

  4. Alicia says:

The Slow Cooker Kahlua Pig with smoked paprika is AMAZING! It was one of those make it once, then want to make it every day dishes. It goes well in soups, frittatas/omelets, lettuce wraps, and more.

I have a post on making a full service burger bar: http://humblefoodie.com/2012/05/27/memorial-day-pale-burger-bar/
My favorite toppings are avocado, caramelized onions, and sunshine sauce (not always together…but it’s okay to have two burgers!)

  5. Linda Sand says:

Meatloaf burgers. Standard additions like egg, onions, seasonings, but chopped water chestnuts instead of grains. Shape into patties and fry on griddle. We make 4 patties out of 1 pound ground beef so have leftovers to eat cold.

  6. Danielle says:

I had these exact same burgers probably 6 times during my whole30. I want one now just thinking about them.

Egg, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, s&p mixed in with the meat. Top with bacon sauteed onions (I found a little hunk of salted pork at WF – no sugar! SCORE), homemade guacamole, tomato slices. Bam! It does not disappoint!

  7. Stephanie says:

Homemade BBQ sauce + guacamole. It sounds kind of icky, but I swear it’s deelish!

  8. Holly says:

    That cauli rice looks amazing!

I like burgers served atop a balsamic grilled portabello with wilted spinach and onions – yumm!!!

  9. I’m all about some fried onions and mushrooms. And avocado on everything!

Good luck with your last week, you can do it! Hope you’re feeling better.

I’m laughing out loud at your ability to work in Gone with the Wind Fabulous (twirlllll) into a Whole 30 food post. Nicely done.
